Tea at the Empress Hotel in Victoria

A 12 minute stroll from the Mermaid Suite vacation condo will put you on the doorstep of one of Victoria's oldest and most venerable institutions: Afternoon Tea at the Empress Hotel.
This tradition began in 1908, and while it is rather expensive for what you are offered, it is an obligatory stop at least once in your life. At the very least, walk through the lobby and ground floor, and peek into the shops.
